Samuel L. Egbert account book, 1830-1850.

Consists of an account and copy book, 1830-1838 and 1840-1842, including business accounts concerning his carpentry and joiner business and general household accounts. The book was also used by his son, William Henry Egbert, as a copy and note book. Accounts with Asa Archer, Paul Clifford, Samuel Doan, David McDowell, Melancton Miller, Jeremiah Presley, John Presley, Richard Presley, and others are listed. Also included in the collection are loose accounts, bills, booklets, notes, and a diagram.

Samuel L. Egbert was an early resident of the Western Reserve of Ohio, arriving at Fairport, Geauga County, Ohio in 1828. By 1830 he was a resident of Chagrin Township, Cuyahoga County, Ohio (later Willoughby Township, Lake County, Ohio). Egbert married Frances Miller (1793-1880) and had several children.
